Sullivanesque is a performance conceptualized for “Post-Show” an exhibition of ephemeral performances, installations, curatorial projects, and programming inside of the Target Store on State Street, Chicago. The store is located in a building designed by architect Louis Sullivan, formerly known as the Carson, Pirie, Scott and Company Building. Following Sullivan’s trendsetting advances, I am using fragments of commodified architectural ornaments from the store to re-envision architectural foliage and interrogate its place in our homes as the idealized aesthetic of wealth. The performance embodies moments of image-making that plastic appropriations present.
